The project
Ten episodes. Ten original songs.
Gracie B & the Honeycombs is an animated children’s series created for Inspiration Ministries, using music and storytelling to introduce young audiences to Christian values and the Fruit of the Spirit.
Moose Hoose joined the production as its music partner, with an ambitious brief: create an original song for every episode.
Not simply background music, but songs that could stand on their own.
Finding the sound
Classic character. Modern production.
We worked closely with the show’s creative director to establish a musical identity drawing on the character and energy of classic ’50s, ’60s and ’70s rock ’n’ roll while still feeling relevant to children today.
That meant taking the hooks, instrumentation and personality of those eras and giving them a contemporary production treatment.
Every song also had to support the theme and message of its episode without losing the thing that matters most in children’s music: it still had to be a good song.
Immediate melodies with the energy to introduce a character and stay memorable.
Playful arrangements, vocal personality and a bright sense of movement.

An album built in-house
One musical world.
Across the ten-episode series, Moose Hoose wrote, recorded and produced the complete collection of original songs.
The music was created in-house before being combined with remotely recorded vocals from a singer selected by the show’s director, allowing the production to work collaboratively across locations.
From songwriting and arrangement through instrumentation, recording and final production, we brought the musical side together and created a consistent sound across the series. The result was effectively an original children’s album created alongside the animated show.

Music with a purpose
Make the message something children want to hear.
Entertainment was only part of the objective. The series was created to communicate positive, faith-led ideas through characters, stories and music rather than simply presenting them as lessons.
That meant understanding the values behind the project and finding a creative language that felt fun, accessible and right for its audience.
It is an approach we bring to any project with a strong point of view: understand what the creator is actually trying to say first, then find the best creative way to say it.
The message mattered. The music still had to move.
